These Car Colors Will Be the Trendiest in 2022, Supplier Says
In its annual automotive color trends report, Global 500 coatings supplier BASF says its newest palette for 20221-2022 “shows a new diversity of colors.” This year’s color collection, named “Superposition,” overcomes “binary systems.” By being playful and serious, comfortable and disturbing, clear and chaotic, this palette is sure to please.
In the press release, BASF noted that the world today has an “uncountable” number of variations, and this palette is responding to our modern lives. The company segmented popular color trends by region: Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific, and North America. The report asserts that natural browns are key in North America, while more muted greens and blues are popular colors in the Asia-Pacific region. The EMEA region sees pops of color with a bold orange and purple. Throughout the report, BASF emphasized that these coatings contain shimmers, tri-coats, and multiple hues, which relates to its overarching theme of “endless variation.”
